My roommate is playing Guitar Hero (monstrosity of a game), and he found an Alice In Chains song. As he blundered his way through it, I thought of times at the pub with Zach. I recall the deal we made with the waiter Bill. "I'll talk to O'Brien about you guys playing here," he said as he knelt beside our table and lowered his voice. "But there's one stipulation- you've gotta cover Alice." So we agreed and within a few weeks, we were getting a handsom paycheck and a plate of beer-cheese fries to play music for 2 hours. Yeah we played a plethera of songs, most of which were originals, but I like to think we really got paid for playing "Down in a Hole" at least three times a night. Those were the days.
