It's a Wonderful Prequal
Watching "It's a Wonderful Life" with my family the other night and picked up on a few things I'd never noticed before. This already profound film is far deeper than one might assume, with various back stories and side notes that imply more layers than perseaved. When George is trying to help Uncle Billy retrace the lost money, the old man stutters out, "I even looked in rooms I haven't been in since I lost Laura." What?! Where did that come from? Then there's Mr. Gower- his son, or someone close, died of empizema. This is when he got drunk and boxed George's ear. So I propose people stop trying to recreate this classic and, if they really want that badly to rip it off, make spin-off films about Uncle Billy, Mr. Gower, or Ernie the cab driver. Give us something fresh.
