"Keep an eye out," Ares barked, bringing Oscar back into focus.
They were surrounded in the shadows by zombies, and not the passive kind. Ares cocked his shotgun and growled at a creature that slunk closer without fear. It would only take one bullet, but like a diver, they feared one shot would set the whole army raging upon them.
"What do we do?" asked Oscar, eyeing their stalkers.
"It's best to just keep moving," Ares said quietly. "At least, that's what Kirkman would say. Lay low, move quickly, avoid trouble."
"And if trouble is unavoidable?"
The rogue zombie stepped closer to Ares, then another step, dragging its rotting foot behind it. Ares smirked and aimed for its head, less than 10 inches away now.
"Well, Kirkman has an answer for that too."
