Antioch: Step Thirty-Three
Scorpion War: Pt. 7

CRACK!

It was a sound like thunder, armor giving way beneath the edge of sword. It was a sound of finality. It was a sound unlike any other as the Scorpion's own stinger drove deep into its skull. The heavy blade split the rock-hard head in two and pinned it still to the earth below. Dust flew up and blood flew out, and hoards of archers and carriers rushed to safety as the massive body overhead twitched into retirement.

As the dust cleared, so did clarity of the outcome, and there was rejoicing among the people. Those in hiding emerged, the injured were tended to, and stories (of course) were relished. Zepp and Walden embraced at the sight of one another intact, and it took everything in himself for Zepp to not do the same upon seeing Ina. Her brother was there to greet her and help her and Juniper Flynn with the wounded. But where was the hero Haarp? Zepp ran to the place of the fallen head to find him. He was met there by Orvin, and hung upon his arm was the limping, heaving Haarp.
