waiting for cookies to come out of the oven. it's been a busy and tiring week, but in a good way. i am being handed more responsibilities than i expected this early in my stay. heading up some community meetings and tag-team teaching a class in the mornings. also started playing harmonica with the praise team, which is pretty cool. starting next week i'll be teaching the class by myself, and the week after will find me with a full case load of guys to officially mentour.
but for now, i'm waiting on chocolate chip pecan cookies to finish baking as a stream of a thousand arrows fly gracefully through the air to meet the body of jet li in "hero" (sorry if i ruined the ending for anyone). vineyard is brushing up on his dr mario, as we will see some of the poteets tomorrow in little rock (they're experts). this is bound to be good times for all, and i look forward to it very much so, as always.
in recent movie news, it has just been announced that sam jackson will portray the shogun of harlem in the remake of the 1985 classic "the last dragon". great movie. if you like cheesy 80's cult films with overdramatic dialogue and morbidly stupid fight scenes, you're probably already familiar with bruce leeroy and the crew by now. but if you haven't seen it, check it out asap! it always gets me in the mood to also watch "escape from new york" although i'm not totally sure why.
cookies are done... oops, a little too done.
