Loud Harp review

Movement. This is the word that comes to mind when I listen to the debut, self-titled album by Loud Harp. Movement like that of an ocean tide. It is a music that you can't just hear and walk away from, but it floods into your bones, evoking a cauldron of emotions that stir together inside your chest and leave you with a stronger soul. I am reminded of a soundtrack, like a mix of Thomas Newman and a simplified (better) Jonsi, with some Jonathan Helser peering through. The lyrics are repetitive and almost gregorian in style, so that they are easy to remember, sing along to, and call upon later in prayer. The songs themselves are prayers, true worship and praise to the Almighty with hearts abandoned and bare before Him. Instrumentation consists of piano, drums, some electric guitars, and subtle vocals that blend beautifully into the accompaniment. A confident debut release on Come&Live, it will be neat to see where these guys go. With their sights on the Lord and their hearts in the right place, one thing is for sure - God will use them in mighty ways.
