Hargood Book Trailer
Because Anderson is the Man!
Last weekend, at this time, I was on the open road and heading toward the mysterious land of Marion, Indiana. It was the second stop on my book tour, and I would be spending less than 24 hours in this little, wind-swept college town. And why was Indiana Wesleyan University a stop on this journey? It was all because of one man - Anderson Kursonis. As we drove along, the horizon getting flatter with every mile, I wondered to myself again why. I decided somewhere along the way that I was just going to see an old friend, and if anyone showed up to hear me speak, all the better. I had met Anderson a few years before, when I myself was in college, and in more recent months, we'd worked on some music together. It had been a while since I'd seen him, so I was looking forward to the reunion. What awaited my arrival, though, was far more than I ever expected. Anderson and his peers came around Hayden and I with open hearts to minister and be ministered to. They gave us our own dorm room and stocked us up with good food, provided entertainment (well, ok... we blew up Diet Coke bottles in the quad... Come on, it's college!), and allowed us to lead them in worship and teaching. It was such a fruitful time with dear brothers and sisters that I will not soon forget.
As I mentioned earlier, Anderson is a musician, and he is quite a terrific one at that. During our visit, he shared with me his plans for an upcoming project. He is recording an EP of five worship songs this summer at his grandparents' cabin in the mountain of North Carolina. He has been hard at work writing and perfecting these songs, and will be recording with our good friend and genius engineer Stephen Price. Anderson is setting out on this endeavor as a ministry and is reaching out to his community for support in the project. He has set up a fund raiser site to make this happen. The perks for supporting him are, I must admit, pretty sweet! If you're interested in helping him out, I encourage you to take a look at it and prayerfully give to this awesome project.
