"Nice place," Ares offered, gazing around the massive, old sanctuary. The rafters arched high overhead, and the occasional bird could even be spotted fluttering around up there. Pews of aged wood framed the carpeted aisle and ran up to the ornate stage and podium, where candles surrounded the holy bread and cup.

At the sight of the food, Oscar's stomach rumbled. Heathcliff held in a laugh and lead his guests down the aisle.

"Before he took the throne," he exclaimed, "David and his Mighty Men were running from Saul, and Saul's enemies the Philistines. With nowhere else to go, they went to the Temple. They were starving, so the priest on duty gave them the Showbread to eat. This was typically forbidden, but God allowed it this one time."

He paused at the table, where the Communion bread sat quietly. They all three looked upon it, two of them holding their hunger at bay. Finally, Heathcliff turned to the left and rolled toward a door which lead behind the stage, to his private quarters.

"I have food for you in my kitchen, if you're interested," he said as he went.

"Something more substantial than bread, I hope" Ares harrumphed.

"He says," laughed the priest, "as if that's merely bread sitting out there."
